Product FAQ

Which UGR value do you need?

The right lighting has a major impact on comfort, concentration and productivity. Light must be bright enough to work well, but must not be dazzling.

The UGR value (Unified Glare Rating) indicates the extent to which a lamp causes glare.

What does the UGR value mean?

  • Low UGR value: less glare, comfortable light
  • High UGR value: greater chance of annoying glare

The lower the UGR value, the more pleasant the light is for the eyes.

Recommended UGR values per room

  • Offices and schools:
    UGR lower than 19 (UGR < 19)
  • Public spaces (such as corridors or reception areas):
    UGR lower than 22 (UGR < 22)

Why is UGR important?

Too much glare can lead to:

  • Tired eyes
  • Headaches
  • Reduced concentration

By choosing lighting with the right UGR value, you ensure a comfortable working environment and better performance.

Summary

The UGR value determines how much a lamp causes glare. For work and learning environments, a low UGR is essential to function comfortably and efficiently.
