FAQ

How do I select the correct lighting for a bathroom?

In the bathroom, there are different safety zones, and for each zone it is important to consider the correct IP rating of the lighting. The IP rating indicates how well a lamp is protected against dust and water.

Zone 0

Lighting is in direct contact with water, for example inside a bathtub or shower tray.

  • Minimum IP rating: IP67

  • These lamps must be fully waterproof and suitable for immersion.

Zone 1

Lighting may come into contact with water on the surface, for example on the wall in the shower or above a washbasin.

  • Minimum IP rating: IP44

  • Recommended IP rating: IP65 for extra protection against splashes.

Zone 2

Lighting is in a humid environment, but does not come into direct contact with water, for example on a wall further from the shower.

  • Minimum IP rating: IP44

  • These lamps are splash-proof and suitable for use in damp areas.

Tip: Choosing the correct IP rating is essential for the safety and longevity of your bathroom lighting.
